Dear Em,
One of my favorite things about you is your calm presence - you have always exuded a special peace that soothes and comforts. I so value your ability to take things as they come, face challenges head on and remain focused and gentle. I imagine it doesn't always feel that way to you - know that to those of us who are fortunate enough to call you our friend, we admire you deeply for your patience, kindness, laughter, flexibility, poise, gentleness, and deep care for those around you. I know I can always count on real honesty, thoughtfulness and love from you - and this is so rare. Every time we get to catch up in person, if even for a short while, I am so grateful to feel as though we are picking up just where we left off. And that is thanks to your genuineness. I love so many things about you and cannot imagine the world without you. Happy 30th and may God bless you with twice as many years yet!
